Entries for January 2014

With the closing of one year and the beginning of another it is time once again for W-2 documents to be mailed to our employees and for the tax season to begin. On January 24, 2014, W-2 documents were mailed to FirstFleet, Inc. employees using the address that we had on file as of December 31, 2013.

Every year there are questions, comments and concerns about the values represented on the documents. The taxable amounts shown on the W-2 often does not match up with any amount shown on the final paystub for the calendar year. To help explain the formula that is used to calculate these values we have prepared the document below.

Winter is upon us, and this means it is a busy season for breakdowns and road calls. In effort to help you get the best service in the event a breakdown happens to you we would like to remind you of how to reach our support team 24 hours a day.

The number to reach a breakdown support team member is:

615-890-7899 - Choose Option 3

In order to make sure we provide you with prompt service we would like to make sure everyone is calling the appropriate number when you have an event. If you call the shop direct or your local office there could be opportunities for delay or missed calls. We certainly do not want anyone stranded or not able to receive service.

With the beginning of the new year, we know many of you will be anxiously awaiting your 2013 W-2 in order to begin your tax filing process.

We want to assure you that, as soon as the last 2013 payroll was processed, the payroll department began diligently working through the process to get W-2s prepared to meet the federally-mandated January 31st deadline. Our goal is to get all W-2s prepared in an accurate and timely manner and to have your W-2 mailed out to your home address as soon as administratively possible.

What Freezes? The brake lining freezes to the brake drum.

Why? If you set your brakes when they're wet, and it is cold (enough) outside, they may freeze.

How do you "unfreeze" them? If you do have frozen brakes, you will have to break them loose. Most often it is the trailer brakes that freeze not the tractor. First try backing up - quite often they'll break free on their own.
