We have created our Facebook page here - not much to show yet - but if you are an active Facebook user you know it is a great way to stay in contact and up to date with the latest information on friends, businesses and just about anything you need information on. We will use our Facebook page to post information from our Blog, share photos, get the word out regarding job openings, new tech features and hopefully much more. We would appreciate it if you would "Like" us so we can gain some traction.

Driving a commercial vehicle is a physically and mentally challenging job. Long hours, customer demands, and other traffic are a lot to deal with. Driver fatigue is a constant companion to the truck driver. Mental stress; such as financial concerns, issues at home, or medical problems, can all weigh heavily on an already tired person. Please stay aware of your alert status. Drowsiness is an advanced stage of fatigue. When you are tired – STOP – REFRESH! Sleep is involuntary; you can doze of at a moments notice.

A while back we released a tool designed to allow employees to view pay history including viewing their settlement data by trip. It was recently brought to my attention that in some instances drivers reported that when clicking on the "View Trip Detail" they were taken to a blank white page. Today I was contacted by a twelve year employee "Joe" from Phoenix, AZ with some specifics that allowed us to track this issue down and resolve it. Thank you to Joe and others for reaching out to us and giving us a chance to resolve the issue for you. If there are additional questions or concerns about t...

To use this navigate to myPortal - Employee Resources - Employee Pay History. There is a parameter for the report which reads "Days Back" - select the option from this list and click update. The pay items from the previous year will be displayed on the page. Thanks Bruce for your comments and suggestion! Due to the responses to the auto-enrollment notice that we discussed a few months ago, we have decided to not introduce that option at this time for the 401k Plan for our company.  We did have a number of associates newly enroll in the plan as an active participant as part of this effort, and we will be honoring those enrollments starting in January 2011.  If you did have an interest in participating in the 401k plan as an auto-enrollee at 4%, you still have time to enroll online at www.principal.com by using the Plan contract # 7-05090.   Please remember that you also have t...

The Truckload Carriers Association has named one of our very own as it’s most recent Highway Angel! William Whitehead out of our Cleveland, TN terminal recently witnessed a passenger vehicle collide with a deer, lose control and come to a stop in the median where it caught on fire. Bill made sure the passengers got out of the car and assisted in extinguishing the fire.   Bill says “I have a daughter who is a single mother, and I hope someone would help her out if she ever needed it”.   For his efforts above and beyond Bill has received the Highway Angel certificate, a lap...

All drivers need Space and Visibility to avoid hazards while driving. 8-12 seconds of eye lead time is recommended at all times. If visibility is reduced because of fog, rain, snow, or sleet, make the adjustment and slow down! Chances are good that if you don’t see an obstacle soon enough – you will hit it!
