It is all hands on deck around the country, and we are excited to say that we are hiring in most every facility. All company drivers and mechanics are eligible to receive a referral bonus of $500 for any full-time driver we hire. After the newly hired full-time driver has been employed for 90 days the referring employee will receive the bonus payment. We would love it if you would pass this link along to your friends and family to help us fill these positions quickly. A few facilities are currently in a big push to find the right resources, and as a result the referral bonus has been increase...

The federal CSA program continues to be enforced in all states at increasing levels. While we are proud as an organization of our standings in this program there are always opportunities to refine and improve in the interest of safety. We are seeing increasing enforcement of trucks in restricted lanes, seat belt usage and speed for the “Moving Violation” basic. We are also seeing increased activity with regard to the “Fatigue and Hours of Service” basic – the short description of this is: your logs. Federal law requires and FirstFleet policy supports that if you are driving a commercial vehic...

Driving a commercial vehicle is a physically and mentally challenging job. Long hours, customer demands, and other traffic are a lot to deal with. Driver fatigue is a constant companion to the truck driver. Mental stress; such as financial concerns, issues at home, or medical problems, can all weigh heavily on an already tired person. Please stay aware of your alert status. Drowsiness is an advanced stage of fatigue. When you are tired – STOP – REFRESH! Sleep is involuntary; you can doze of at a moments notice.

A while back we released a tool designed to allow employees to view pay history including viewing their settlement data by trip. It was recently brought to my attention that in some instances drivers reported that when clicking on the "View Trip Detail" they were taken to a blank white page. Today I was contacted by a twelve year employee "Joe" from Phoenix, AZ with some specifics that allowed us to track this issue down and resolve it. Thank you to Joe and others for reaching out to us and giving us a chance to resolve the issue for you. If there are additional questions or concerns about t...

To use this navigate to myPortal - Employee Resources - Employee Pay History. There is a parameter for the report which reads "Days Back" - select the option from this list and click update. The pay items from the previous year will be displayed on the page. Thanks Bruce for your comments and suggestion! A note for those who desire to reconcile W2 information with the detail of their checks. There are special considerat...

Due to the responses to the auto-enrollment notice that we discussed a few months ago, we have decided to not introduce that option at this time for the 401k Plan for our company.  We did have a number of associates newly enroll in the plan as an active participant as part of this effort, and we will be honoring those enrollments starting in January 2011.  If you did have an interest in participating in the 401k plan as an auto-enrollee at 4%, you still have time to enroll online at www.principal.com by using the Plan contract # 7-05090.   Please remember that you also have t...
