CVSA’s Roadcheck 2017 is to be held June 6-8, 2017 with special emphasis on cargo securement. It is estimated that during this time, an average of 17 trucks or buses will be inspected every minute during the 72-hour event. During the 2016 event, 42,236 Level 1 inspections were conducted. 

A Level 1 inspection is a 37-step procedure that involves an examination of both the driver and vehicle. Of those Level 1 inspections conducted, 21.5% of vehicles and 3.4% of drivers were placed out of service due to critical item violations. Please make sure you and your vehicle are ready!

CVSA’s Roadcheck 2017 is to be held June 6-8, 2017 with special emphasis on cargo securement. Inspectors will primarily be conducting the North American Standard Level 1 Inspection, which is the most thorough roadside inspection! It is a 37-step procedure that includes an examination of both driver and vehicle. 

Drivers will be required to provide items such as their driver’s license, hours-of-service documentation, motor carrier registration and shipping documentation. Inspectors will be checking drivers for seat belt usage and the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

The HMS Dependent Audit has gone extremely well, and I want to personally thank you for participating in this process and investing the time to provide the documentation needed. I know this was an added item on your list of things to do, and I am grateful for your participation.

We have extended the HMS Company Wide Dependent Audit to Friday, May 5th, to allow associates the opportunity to get those last minute verification documents over to HMS. It is likely that you have seen a commercial or advertisement for the Amazon Alexa device which provides for a spoken word interface to all sort of services from home automation to information retrieval. It may even be possible that you have one of these devices in your home. Even if you are not presently using this technology it is rapidly expanding the possibilities of interaction and will become increasingly present in our lives. How we consume information and how we interact with services around us is adapting and changing all the time.

FirstFleet now has the ability to offer associates the opportunity to receive Benefit information and Notices via electronic delivery. By giving consent to receive benefit information and notifications electronically, you will be “In the Know” on new information and announcements. You can now receive important information like open Enrollment Materials, Summary Plan Descriptions and annual 401k information weeks before they would be mailed out.

Version 2.1 of the FirstFleet Mobile app is being released today. This build is a continuation of our last user interface change with simplified tiles. There are a few new features that have been requested by the community of users and we are excited to release them today. The Android platform is presently accessible and ready for download but the Apple iOS version is still pending approval. You should expect to see that hit the App Store in a few days.

FirstFleet is conducting a company-wide dependent Audit for associates that have dependents on the Medical plans. Mailers have been sent out today from our vendor, HMS, that is conducting the audit on our behalf. Please be on the lookout in the days ahead for your mailer as all associates with dependents on the medical plans are required to respond to HMS by April 14th to ensure continuation of coverage.
