The week of September 13-19 is set aside as National Truck Driver Appreciation Week. The 3.4 million truck drivers on our national highways are a vital part of America’s economy and stability. We are afforded the opportunity to move goods from one end of this great country to the other thanks to the men and women who pilot them. It is this movement of goods that drives our economy in critical ways.

Fourteen years ago today America became the victim of a tragic attack which lead to the loss of nearly 3,000 innocent lives. In the years that have passed we have continued to see the effects that these and other attacks have had on our lives and the lives of those intimately connected to September 11, 2001.

The latest release of the FirstFleet Mobile App brings a few exciting new features which are geared to keeping our driver community informed and connected. This release provides two new cards on the main screen and some less obvious but likely well received enhancements.

In this release there is a new card for our driver community geared toward connecting them with the closest authorized fuel stops in our network. Using the card is simple, just tap and scroll the list of stops within close proximity to your current position. In the coming weeks a new release will provide additional details about the stop such as the number of lanes, showers, types of food offered and more.

FirstFleet is growing and we need your help! We are in need of new drivers for our Cleveland, TN dedicated operation. Effective immediately the referral bonus for this facility is being increased to $2000. For new full-time hires at the Cleveland, TN locations through 10/1/2015. 

The referred driver has to work 90 days before you are eligible to receive your bonus. Make sure to have the prospective driver list you on the application to receive your bonus.

FirstFleet is in the process of accepting bids for power equipment for 2016 delivery and beyond. In an effort to make our equipment more driver friendly, a better driver environment, and more comfortable we are soliciting feedback from our drivers. 

Your opinion matters to us and we need your input. I have personally talked to several drivers at a few of our terminals but cannot get to as many terminals as I wanted and we need a broader base of opinions, so the best solution is this survey.

Ralph began his driving career with FirstFleet, Inc. in 1987 and continues to drive out of the Cleveland, TN location on the Kroger account. Ralph appreciates the good equipment FirstFleet provides and he enjoys the people he works with.
