Mike Farmer was presented with answering a big question for himself a few years ago when he found out that he was going to be a father to a precious daughter.  He had to make the decision if he was going to be willing to take the necessary steps for himself to ensure that he was going to be active and around for his wife and young daughter.  Once he made the decision to make some changes, Mike found out that small changes can have a huge impact on your health.

Each year our country honors Veterans in a day of celebration and remembrance of those who have served our nation in the Armed Forces. At FirstFleet we are proud to join with our fellow Americans in extending our debt of gratitude to these countless men and women who have made great sacrifice for freedom.

All across the globe men and women have worn the American flag in service as a symbol of hope as they have tirelessly given themselves to the idea of freedom. With freedom comes great responsibility and our Armed Services have answered the call with integrity and honor.

Tony has been working with the shop in Ames, Iowa since March of this past year. However, his journey to wellness started much earlier than his time with FirstFleet, But as you can see from his video here that he welcomes the opportunities that the Wellness Program at FirstFleet offers to everyone. He is determined to stay on top of his wellness to stay on track with losing more weight to feel as best as he can.

The first 10 months of this year have brought about many conversations with FirstFleet’s driver population. These have been through driver safety meetings, online driver surveys and general discussions in driver breakfast meetings. These conversations have centered around the company’s desire to acknowledge and meet every employee’s hopes and desires for the best workplace for everyone. These interactions have helped us greatly in this process and we are grateful for the feedback you have provided.

Brian Imhoff spends hours upon hours each week managing the fleet based in Ames, Iowa. He has worked in this role since September 2004. Brian is our featured Wellness Hero this week due to some recent changes he made in his lifestyle and nutrition after the Biometric testing at his location in 2014.

As Brian explains in the attached video, he was not satisfied with some of his results/markers from the test, and he realized it was time to make some changes.

The annual open enrollment for the 2016 benefit year will end as of 10/31/15. Many locations are continuing to have enrollment meetings right up to October 31st, and the website is available 24-7 up until midnight October 31st. The call center will only be available up to 5:00 p.m. on Friday October 30th.

To enroll by telephone Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. EST, call 1-866-294-4050 by October 30, 2015. A benefit counselor will explain all the options available to you and your covered dependents.

For most locations with 10 or more employees, managers have worked with Colonial Life to set up on-site enrollment meetings where every eligible employee may meet in a private 1-to-1 session with a benefit counselor. Check with your fleet manager to see if your location will be having enrollment meetings on site and if so, when that meeting has been scheduled.

We will leave the survey running for the next week (through 9/25) to allow ample time for participation.
